Purpose of the Training Course<\/b><\/h4><\/div>
<\/div><\/div>

\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0<\/span>SEA TEAMS <\/span><\/b>is organized jointly by King Mongkut\u2019s University of Technology, Thonburi (KMUTT), Collaborative Computational Project No.4 (CCP4) and Collaborative Computational Project for Electron cryo-Microscopy (CCP-EM).<\/span><\/p>\n

\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0The school is designed for graduate students, postdoctoral researchers, and young scientists both from academia and industry worldwide, who are, or are planning to use macromolecular X-ray crystallography (MX) or cryo electron microscopy (cryo-EM) in their research.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0There will be lectures on fundamental concepts of MX and cryo-EM, as well as software tutorials and training in all aspects of macromolecular structure solution process from sample preparation to structure refinement and deposition to PDB. Popular programs and suites, such as<\/span> CCP4, CCP4 Cloud, XDS, DIALS, Global Phasing<\/b><\/span> suites of programs, <\/span>REFMAC<\/b>, <\/span>Coot<\/b>, <\/span>Moorhen, RELION, Doppio and much more, <\/b><\/span>will be featured. All software will be presented by <\/span>software developers<\/span><\/a>.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0A big part of the school is dedicated to<\/span> problem-solving sessions<\/b>, <\/span><\/span>where the participants will <\/span>work on their own data and structures with one-on-one assistance from the world\u2019s renowned experts.\u00a0<\/b><\/span><\/p>\n

\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0Participants are encouraged to bring their own unprocessed diffraction data (raw images) to work on during problem-solving sessions. However, this is not mandatory. There will be also an opportunity to<\/span> collect diffraction data remotely from their own crystals at Diamond Light Source (UK).<\/b><\/span><\/p>\n

\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0Due to its complexity and time required,<\/span> Cryo-EM data collection is not feasible <\/b><\/span>at this time.<\/span> However, participants are encouraged to bring their own high resolution (better than 5 \u00c5)<\/b><\/span> data to work on with the help of the experts.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div>

The course is international and applications from all countries are welcome to <\/span>apply<\/u><\/span><\/a><\/span>. 20 applications will be selected for participation. THERE IS NO FEE IN SUBMITTING THE APPLICATION.<\/span><\/p>\n

Applications will be accepted until <\/span>25 September 2026.<\/b><\/span><\/p>\n

The selection results will be announced on<\/span> 5 October 2026.<\/b><\/span><\/p>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div>

Up to 20 selected applicants will be responsible for registration fees for participation in the training course as follows:<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n

1. Students<\/span><\/td>\n7,000 Baht (THB)<\/span><\/td>\n<\/tr>\n
2. Postdoctoral fellows\/Academic faculty\/Academic Staff\/National\u00a0Scientist researchers<\/span><\/td>\n12,000 Baht (THB)<\/span><\/td>\n<\/tr>\n
3. Commercial\/Industrial Staff<\/span><\/td>\n20,000 Baht (THB)<\/span><\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<\/tbody>\n<\/table>\n<\/div>\n

\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0Course materials, lunch, dinner and coffee breaks throughout the workshop are included in the registration fee. However, all selected participants are responsible for their own transportation and lodging. Recommended\u00a0<\/span>accommodation<\/u><\/span><\/a><\/span> on campus or nearby KMUTT are available at economical rates.<\/span><\/p>\n

Some\u00a0financial support\u00a0will be\u00a0available for the course attendees.<\/span>\u00a0<\/b><\/p>\n
